Wolfgang Leip ist Partner bei Kaye Scholer und leitet die Praxisgruppe IP/Patent Litigation des Frankfurter Büros. Er hat mehr als 25 Jahre Erfahrung im Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz, insbesondere im Patentrecht und vertritt regelmäßig in- und ausländische Unternehmen vor den Patentstreitkammern der Gerichte in Düsseldorf, Mannheim und Frankfurt und vor den Berufungssenaten der Oberlandesgerichte. Die Verfahren werden stets im Team mit erfahrenen Patentanwälten geführt, ebenso wie bei Nichtigkeitsverfahren vor dem Bundespatentgericht und in der Berufung vor dem Bundesgerichtshof.

Wolfgang Leip arbeitet regelmäßig mit der Patent Litigation Practice Group der Sozietät in New York, Chicago, Washington, D. C. und Palo Alto zusammen. Er vertritt Mandanten aus allen technischen Gebieten und zahlreichen Branchen, schwerpunktmäßig auf den Fachgebieten Pharma, Chemie und Maschinenbau. Wolfgang Leip ist auch in anderen Bereichen des Gewerblichen Rechtsschutzes tätig, wie zum Beispiel der Führung von Rechtsstreitigkeiten bei Verletzungen von Markenrechten und Geschmacksmustern oder in wettbewerbsrechtlichen Auseinandersetzungen mit einem Schwerpunkt im Lebensmittel- und Arzneimittelrecht.

He is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office, and has twenty years of experience litigating in the US, the UK and Europe, including significant trial experience and appellate practice.

Nicholas Friedman is an Associate in Kaye Scholer’s Complex Commercial Litigation Department and a member of the Firm’s Life Sciences group. He represents clients in commercial, product liability and intellectual property litigation, with a particular focus on consolidated mass tort actions. Mr. Friedman has represented clients in all phases of litigation both in state and federal courts.

Sean Boyle is an Associate in the Intellectual Property Department whose practice focuses on patent litigation and other complex civil litigation. Given his advanced background in the life sciences area, Sean has substantial experience litigating patent infringement cases relating to biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, ANDA challenges and medical devices. He has also litigated several computer software patent cases, as well as cases involving semiconductor manufacturing equipment and semiconductor packaging.

Gerald Sobel has litigated and tried many complex cases in over 40 years of practice. His trials include landmark wins in cases of exceptional complexity and novel legal issues. By way of example, he represented Xerox in its win in the SCM v. Xerox case, including a year-long antitrust trial involving office copier technology in the District of Connecticut – the longest federal civil jury trial; was lead counsel for Xoma in its win on patent infringement against Centocor before a San Francisco jury – the longest biotech patent trial; and was lead counsel for Pfizer against the University of Rochester, in its win in the Celebrex® patent infringement case on summary judgment and then on appeal at the Federal Circuit.
