Mark Godler has over thirty years of legal experience encompassing a broad range of litigation work and counseling services, with special focus on intellectual property, commercial disputes and antitrust issues. He has worked closely with clients in the pharmaceutical, entertainment, publishing, fashion, textile and cosmetic industries, providing practical advice designed to balance strategic legal considerations with financial realities.
Mr. Godler has litigated cases for clients in the media and communications industries, as well as for makers of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, textiles and luxury goods. Mr. Godler's work in intellectual property matters has involved counseling with respect to trademarks and copyrights, marketing and distribution practices, joint ventures and other cooperative arrangements, and licensing agreements. In addition, he is responsible for Kaye Scholer's trademark registration practice, and oversees the firm's filing and maintenance program for trademarks.
Mr. Godler's experience also includes intellectual property counseling with respect to mergers. He has negotiated consent decrees with the US government in connection with multi-billion-dollar pharmaceutical industry mergers, as well as multi-company licensing arrangements upon which government approval of the mergers was based.
