Alan Palmer focuses his practice on litigation, administrative law, antitrust, advertising, and other consumer law, emphasizing litigation in the federal courts and before federal administrative agencies including the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. He also is involved in litigation of constitutional law issues. MEHR

His practice involves counseling clients with respect to antitrust, deceptive advertising, food and drug, and other consumer issues. Mr. Palmer’s extensive litigation experience includes cases in banking and finance, dietary supplements, and television and direct marketing. Among recent matters he has litigated are cases involving Supremacy Clause and Fourteenth Amendment issues.

Mr. Palmer held multiple positions at the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, where he was Acting Director, Deputy Director, and Assistant Director for General Litigation. Prior to his federal service, Mr. Palmer was a law clerk to the Hon. Stanley N. Barnes, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and to the Hon. Potter Stewart, United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Palmer has lectured and written on various legal topics. As a Visiting Fellow at Yale University, he co-taught an advanced antitrust course at Yale Law School.
