Richard Smolev has broad insolvency experience at all levels of the capital structure in a variety of industries. He has particular experience with the insolvency aspects of leveraged and operating leases, and routinely works with the firm’s structured finance and real estate securitization practice groups in their financing and capital market transactions. A number of his clients actively participate in the distressed loan and bond markets, and draw on Mr. Smolev’s cross-border experience to buy companies across the globe.
MEHRIt was recently announced that Mr. Smolev was a recipient of a 2011 International Law Office (“ILO”) Client Choice Award.
Mr. Smolev has written and lectured extensively on a number of bankruptcy-related topics.
