Derrick Zandpour is an Associate in the Finance Department and the Structured Finance practice group of Kaye Scholer. Mr. Zandpour's practice is concentrated in the representation of issuers, banks and underwriters in connection with various asset-based lending transactions, credit facilities and securitizations. His work involves structured products such as collateralized debt obligations, credit-linked notes, structured investment vehicles and repurchase agreements. Moreover, Mr. Zandpour's experience includes advising counterparties in ISDA-based hedging and credit default swap transactions and enhancements. He has also worked extensively on restructuring distressed structured investment vehicles. Mr. Zandpour's practice also includes fund formation, private equity, the representation of special committees and general corporate advice.
MEHRMr. Zandpour is a member of Kaye Scholer's Financial Reform Task Force, formed to advise financial institutions and other participants in the financial markets on the impact of recent and pending legislation involving financial reform, including the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the regulations mandated by that act as they are proposed and adopted.
Mr. Zandpour graduated from Cornell University cum laude and with distinction in all subjects. He went on to receive his juris doctorate from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was Senior Editor of the Northwestern Journal of International Law and Business.
Mr. Zandpour is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola Law School Los Angeles, where he has implemented a new course on structured finance.
