William “Butch” Cullen is a Partner in the Structured Finance group, in Kaye Scholer’s New York office. His practice focuses on securities and corporate finance, with an emphasis on the securitization of financial assets, in particular, commercial mortgage assets. He is also significantly involved in the workout and restructuring of defaulted real estate loans and securities, the sale and liquidation of distressed financial assets, including as part of a sale to governmental authorities, on behalf of financial institutions, and the sale of servicing platforms and investment advisory businesses.
Mr. Cullen has been ranked in Chambers USA: Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business 2011 in the top tier for “Capital Markets: Securitization — National” and Chambers Global: Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers for Business 2011 in the top tier for “US Capital Markets: Securitization.” In addition, Mr. Cullen was named in Euromoney’s Expert Guides to The Best of the Best USA 2011 as one of the top 25 best attorneys in the nation for Structured Finance and Securitization and was recognized by Best Lawyers in America 2012 for Securitization and Structured Finance Law.
