Mark Liscio is a partner in the Bankruptcy & Restructuring Department where he represents syndicate agents, major financial institutions and private equity firms in debt restructurings and insolvency proceedings. Mr. Liscio has practiced creditors' rights and insolvency law on behalf of lenders for more than 25 years.

Mr. Liscio has been active in a number of recent restructurings and insolvencies arising out of the current credit crisis. He has represented the administrative agent in the New Century and American Home insolvency cases, the administrative agent in a $1.2 billion construction loan receivables financing, a lead arranger in a restructuring of $2 billion of exposure to GMAC, and a number of financial institutions and lender groups in the restructuring of the debt of several insurance companies. Other examples of Mr. Liscio's representations include the representation of the lead arrangers in a complex restructuring of a $6 billion credit facility extended to a merchant energy company and the representation of a global financial institution in connection with its extensions of credit to Enron Corp.

Mr. Liscio has structured, restructured and negotiated a wide variety of complex insolvency financings throughout his career, for which he has developed a reputation as a firm and fair advocate and pragmatic deal maker. He has been involved in a broad array of industries over the course of his career, including mortgage lending, energy, insurance, retail, apparel, shipping, telecommunications, cable and general manufacturing.

Mr. Liscio has been recognized as a leading practitioner in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He has chaired and participated in numerous insolvency panels and programs on several topics, including cross border insolvencies, debtor-in-possession financing and commercial loan workouts.
