Fred Marcusa, a senior partner in Kaye Scholer's Corporate Department, practices principally in the areas of corporate and international law. He has had more than 25 years experience in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, financing and commercial transactions, including joint ventures, licensing and sales and representation agreements.
Mr. Marcusa has been personally involved in business as a director and owner and has been a strategic advisor to and lawyer for major companies in the U.S., Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America, as well as foreign governments and international non-governmental organizations. He works extensively with French clients, including the Government of France and various French state-owned and public and private entities. He has experience particularly in the chemical, electronics and defense industries through transactions in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America. He has developed a number of innovative techniques for dealing with highly complex commercial, political and legal problems and has had significant experience with consumer products and their distribution problems, including international trademarks.
In recent years, he has devoted considerable efforts to software publishing and multimedia transactions involving electronic distribution, including through the Internet as well as conventional distribution. He is widely recognized for his writing and advice to senior executives and others in leveraged buy-outs, as well as senior executives on their employment agreements. He has written and spoken about various topics in corporate and international law in America and Europe. Mr. Marcusa is also a concert flutist who has played several solo recitals at Carnegie Recital Hall.
