Mr. Stamato's practice is focused in complex commercial litigation. Over the years, he has represented corporations, financial institutions, private equity funds and professional institutions in a wide range of disputed matters including commercial finance, securities fraud, bankruptcy, real estate, partnership/business dissolution and professional negligence. He also has extensive experience in cross border and multi-jurisdictional disputes. Mr. Stamato has counseled individual and business clients in connection with grand jury investigations and in defending claims of white-collar crime and professional liability.
His recent experience includes: defense of an international investment banking institution in connection with litigation regarding tax arbitrage claims; lead defense counsel for national banking institution in multi-party preference/fraudulent transfer trial; defense of international pharmaceutical company on false advertising claims in consumer fraud class action; representation of national commercial real estate investment fund in defense of alleged 10b-5 violations; representations of executives in grand jury and SEC investigations; counsel to clients on reporting obligations under Sarbanes-Oxley and Patriot Act.
