Sydney Unger practices in the area of tax law with a concentration in corporate and joint venture matters. He has considerable experience in working with clients in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and bankruptcy workouts, leveraged leasing transactions and IRS and New York controversy matters.
He is a frequent lecturer and author and, in addition to his various bar memberships, he is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Unger is a former Adjunct Professor at New York Law School (LL.M. in Taxation Program). Through 1999, he was Chair of the Committee on Taxation of Corporations of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, having previously served as Vice-Chair of such Committee for three years. Mr. Unger is a former Managing Editor and Articles Editor of The Tax Lawyer, which is the quarterly publication of the Section of Taxation of the American Bar Association.
