Allen Waxman Spoke at Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Off-Label Communications Seminar

Allen P. Waxman, Partner in the Litigation Department, spoke at the “6th Annual Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Company’s Guide to Off-Label Communications” seminar in Philadelphia on July 15-16, 2009. The two-day seminar addressed the needs of in-house counsel and senior executives in the pharmaceutical industry, and provided the most up-to-date tools for tackling the latest legal and regulatory developments. The seminar covered successful compliance plans, effective business practices, and winning litigation tactics from leading in-house counsel, compliance and regulatory officers, and expert attorneys who represent the pharmaceutical industry.
Mr. Waxman participated in the panel titled “Minimizing Purchaser/Consumer Fraud Class Action Off-Label Liabilities” on July 16, 2009. The panel covered the following topics:
- Understanding current class action trends and evolving theories based on alleged off-label promotion,
- Analyzing recent class action decisions related to actions based on alleged off-label promotion,
- Tackling key battleground issues in off-label consumer fraud cases,
- Challenging class certification,
- Scrutinizing unique damages issues, and
