Real Estate partner Warren Bernstein participated on the “Hospitality Industry Financing: Hotels and Restaurants” panel on September 9, 2016 as part of the ABA Business Law Section's three-day annual meeting in Boston.
As a panelist, Warren discussed priming hotel arrangements, the relationship between a lender and a hotel manager, loan agreements and security, and other third-party documents. The two-hour panel discussion also addressed the following issues:
- hotel management and franchise agreements,
- drafting and negotiating SNDAs and comfort letters with hotel brands,
- balancing the cash controls required by the hotel manager and those required by the lender, and
- common restaurant financing issues.
The annual ABA Business Law Section Meeting, held this year in Boston from September 8–10, attracted more than 1,600 business law professionals for premier CLE, practice-specific substantive sessions and networking opportunities.
