Kaye Scholer Co-Hosted Workshop Series on "German AIFMD Implementation Act: The Future of Real Estate Funds in Germany"

Kaye Scholer, in association with Connos, Wüest & Partner and Sal. Oppenheim, co-hosted a workshop series on the German AIFMD Implementation Act (KAGB) in Munich on September 19, 2013 and in Hamburg on November 5, 2013. Thomas A. Jesch (Counsel, Frankfurt office) delivered a presentation on the distribution and management of closed-ended real estate funds under the German AIFMD Implementation Act (KAGB).

The co-hosts’ presentations focused on the concept and organization of KAGB risk management (Connos), real estate valuation under the new regulatory regime (Wüest & Partner), and first experiences of a depository under KAGB (Sal. Oppenheim).

Furthermore, Dr. Claus Toll (Regierungsdirektor, Berlin) made a presentation on the license application for real estate management companies. The event concluded with a panel discussion about the future options for sponsors of closed-ended real estate funds in Germany.
