“Negotiating the Acquisition of a Private Company” (Columbia Law School, New York, NY)

Joel Greenberg served on a panel with a group of seasoned mergers and acquisitions attorneys from major law firms across North America to stage an interactive mock negotiation of a corporate acquisition at Columbia Law School. The panelists illustrated the "give-and-take" in a contentious negotiation involving a middle-market acquisition of a privately-held company, focusing on some of the more controversial provisions included in the definitive acquisition agreement. The participants stepped out of character frequently during the course of their presentation to explain their negotiating positions and strategies and to respond to questions from the audience.
