Spangler and Lewin Spoke at BVCA Seminar on the Taxation of Private Equity

Timothy Spangler, head of the Investment Funds Group, and Daniel Lewin, partner in the Tax Department, were the featured speakers at a seminar hosted by the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) on January 16 in London. The seminar focused on the ongoing debates in the US and the UK over the taxation of private equity funds and their principals. Specifically, they discussed the Rangel Bill and other proposed legislation in the US, and the proposed 18% capital gains tax rate and changes to the domicile rules in the UK.
