Waks Moderates Cornell Program on Labor Relations in China

On April 15, 2010, Jay W. Waks, Partner in the Litigation Department of the New York office and Chair of the Employment & Labor Law practice, moderated the program "The Transformation of Labor Relations in China" at the Institute for Workplace Studies of Cornell University. The panelists included Sarosh Kuruvilla, who is Professor of Industrial Relations, Asian Studies and Public Affairs at Cornell's ILR School and a leading expert on comparative industrial relations in Asia, and Mary Gallagher, who is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Michigan and Director of its Center for Chinese Studies. This program is an outgrowth of their conference on "Breaking Down Chinese Walls: The Changing Face of Labor & Employment in China" at which Mr. Waks delivered remarks at Cornell University. The guests at this evening program included representatives of corporations, financial institutions and labor unions with interests in China.
