Leip Speaks at Shanghai Patent Conference

Wolfgang Leip, Partner in the Frankfurt office, spoke at the “2nd Pharma & Biotech Patent Conference,” which was held in Shanghai on August 26-27, 2010. This two-day conference addressed how companies can avoid risks in intellectual property rights protection and improve their capacity for innovation.
On August 26, Wolfgang delivered a presentation on "Patent Litigation and Enforcement in Europe." He addressed the peculiarities of the patent litigation systems in various European jurisdictions, of which Germany is by far the most important. The topics covered at the conference included:
- Patent rights in the efficient litigation environment of Europe
- Defending your business and patent infringement suits
- Strategy for attack and defense in interlocutory proceedings
- Latest developments towards creating the new European and EU patents court system
On August 27, Wolfgang chaired the conference.
