Waks Speaks at National Forum on Wage & Hour Claims & Class Actions

Jay Waks (Partner, New York Office and Chair, Employment & Labor Law) was a featured speaker at the American Conference Institute’s 13th National Forum on Wage & Hour Claims & Class Actions, which was held in San Francisco on September 20 – 21, 2011.

Jay was joined by the General Counsel of Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC in a panel discussion of “Considerations of Settlement, Arbitration and Mediation” of Wage & Hour class and collective actions under state and federal laws. Jay’s remarks also addressed the “Latest Developments in Employment Arbitration of Wage & Hour Class and Collective Claims, Following the Supreme Court’s Decisions in Stolt-Nielsen vs. AnimalFeeds Intl. Corp. (2010) and AT&T Mobility LLC vs. Concepcion (2011)”. In addition, Jay participated in a discussion with two officials of the U.S. Department of Labor in regard to hotly contested wage and hour issues. Carlos Lopez (New York Associate) and two Summer Associates, Sarah Constantine (Fordham) and Jason Short (Columbia), worked with Jay on materials for this conference.
