Xethalis Moderates Tech Talk Panel on Bitcoin

Corporate counsel Gregory Xethalis moderated the “Legal Implications of Bitcoin and Smart Financial Instruments” panel at the Cardozo Law Tech Talk event “Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Finance” on November 20. Going beyond bitcoin as a payment system, the event focused on applications such as cryptosecurities and smart derivatives and explored how these applications fit into existing legal and regulatory regimes.

Participants on Greg’s panel were Patrick Murk, co-founder, The Bitcoin Foundation/fellow, The Berkman Center, Harvard University/special counsel at Pillsbury Winthrop; Jones Day partners Stephen Obie and Joel Telpner; Cardozo Law School professor Jeanne Schroeder; and Yvette Valdez of Latham & Watkins.
