New York: As part of Kaye Scholer’s strategy to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary Energy & Infrastructure industry group, the firm has just brought on Energy & Infrastructure Partner Joel Moser.

“We are expanding our energy and infrastructure capabilities to better serve our growing roster of clients in this sector which will experience significant growth over the next decade,” said Mike Solow, Kaye Scholer’s Managing Partner. “Bringing on Joel is a key first step in enhancing our current offerings for owners, developers, investors and underwriters of oil & gas, nuclear, renewables, and electricity projects to provide clients with a full array of energy and infrastructure-related legal services and guidance both in the US and internationally.”

Moser, who joins Kaye Scholer from Bingham McCutchen, focuses on the planning, development, acquisition, financing, operation and sale of energy and infrastructure assets around the world. The founding editor of Global Infrastructure and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, he represents investment funds, developers, industrial sponsors, banking and investment firms, municipalities and government entities on a wide range of oil & gas, power, water and transportation projects. He has particular experience advising on the financing of public-private projects (PPPs). Ranked in both Chambers USA and Chambers Global as a leading Projects lawyer, Moser also serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, Infrastructure Finance and Development.

Representative projects include representing Shell, Noble and Anadarko and other owners and developers of oil, gas and related facilities on upstream exploration and production, refining, power transmission and distribution projects for Africa, Asia and North America; advising on a wide range of PPP infrastructure projects, including municipal water systems, ports, urban mass transit, commuter rail, airport connector lines and international airports; helping with the financing and development of natural gas co-generation plants, cross-border natural gas pipelines, renewables such as wind, water and biomass projects; and representing investment funds and institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, in energy and infrastructure fund investments.

Kaye Scholer’s Energy & Infrastructure industry group draws on 30+ lawyers across multiple offices including New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Frankfurt, London and Shanghai. We regularly counsel US and international clients on (1) litigation and proceedings before FERC and other regulatory bodies; (2) M&A and other corporate investment in energy companies and projects; (3) the development, financing and operation of refineries, wind and solar farms and other energy infrastructure; (4) restructuring and workouts for energy and power projects; and (5) water scarcity, clean tech and other sustainability matters. Additional infrastructure matters on which we advise include toll-roads, bridges, airports, light rail, ports and other large projects.
