Kaye Scholer’s Steven Glassman Named Senior Enforcement Counsel at NY Attorney General’s Office, Division of Economic Justice

NEW YORK—Kaye Scholer long-time Partner, Special Counsel and litigator Steven Glassman will join the New York State Attorney General’s Office, as Senior Enforcement Counsel. Glassman assumes this new position on July 15. 

In his new role, Glassman will work on matters arising in the Division of Economic Justice, which encompasses five bureaus: Investor Protection, Antitrust, Internet, Consumer Fraud, and Real Estate Finance.

“Steven began his legal career in public service, so it seems particularly fitting that he come back to it now with nearly 40 years of experience to draw on.  I’ve no doubt it is that vast experience that led the Attorney General to put Steven in this new role,” said Kaye Scholer Firm Chair Mike Solow. “With his broad experience in securities and commodities cases as well as in intellectual property, clients and colleagues alike have long turned to Steven for his legal acumen and brilliant understanding of the rapidly evolving world—and law—around us.”

Glassman has litigated complex cases as lead counsel before juries, judges, arbitrators and mediators for more than 37 years. Before joining Kaye Scholer, where he was a partner for 34 years, he gained extensive trial experience as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. He also served as Chief of the Civil Rights Section and gained intensive appellate experience as Chief Civil Appellate Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Early in his career, he served as an Examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and also worked at NASA.

Glassman received his BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and JD from Georgetown Law Center, where he was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal.
