Kaye Scholer Helps Open Environmental Elementary School

Kaye Scholer was featured in an AmLaw Daily article on September 3, 2009 titled "Kaye Scholer Helps Open Environmental Elementary School in Queens." The article describes the newly-opened school, Growing Up Green, which incorporates environmental sustainability into the curriculum and the daily life of its students. Kaye Scholer's pro bono lawyers have donated 272 hours to the school, as part of the 1,400 hours donated to charter schools over the past few years.  The partnership has been a good experience for both the school and the firm. "It is a great educational tool for the attorneys here to be involved with as many different contracts as possible," says Alison King, Counsel in the Corporate & Finance Department and Co-Chair of Kaye Scholer's Pro Bono Committee, adding: "It's an ongoing relationship. You really connect with the school's mission and the children."
