Jay Waks Quoted Extensively on Avoiding Costly Discrimination and Harassment Lawsuits and Creating Productive Workplaces

July 2011

Jay W. Waks, Partner in Kaye Scholer’s Complex Commercial Litigation Department and Chair of its Employment & Labor Law practice, was quoted extensively in the article “Avoid Costly Lawsuits: Reduce the risk of expensive legal costs for sex harassment and discrimination,” which appeared in the July 2011 issue of Aqua magazine. Mr. Waks advised on the importance of employers of all sizes having clear and unambiguous policies against discrimination and harassment, in order to avoid costly litigation as well as enhance workplace productivity. In addition, he stressed the critical nature of sensitivity training, establishing multiple channels of communication for reporting discriminatory practices (and other workplace misconduct), taking complaints seriously and periodically updating workplace policies.
