Alice Young Selected For DirectWomen Board Institute

February 20, 2008

Alice Young, partner and Chair of the Asia Pacific Practice, was selected from among the top women attorneys in the United States to be a member of the 2008 DirectWomen Board Institute, a workshop designed to develop and support the placement of women lawyers on corporate boards of major public companies.

The DirectWomen Board Institute was held February 20-22, 2008, at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City and culminated with the Sandra Day O'Connor Board Excellence Award that recognized six distinguished women lawyers, and the companies on whose boards they serve, for their achievements and commitment to promoting board diversity.

The Institute and the Sandra Day O'Connor Board Excellence Award are part of the DirectWomen initiative, a collaboration between Catalyst and the American Bar Association Section of Business Law. The initiative identifies, develops, and supports accomplished women lawyers for service on U.S. corporate boards, while also promoting the independence and diversity required for optimal corporate governance.
