The 2016 Ceramics of Italy awards program has selected Kaye Scholer’s New York office as its Commercial Winner to recognize the office’s effective and creative uses of Italian tile and quality of tile installation.
Gensler, the designer of the firm’s New York office, was noted for utilizing the Atlas Concorde Marvel collection in Calacatta Extra, which simulates white Calacatta marble that’s rich with gray veining, extensively throughout the elevator lobbies, reception, conference center and cafeteria. The cost-effectiveness of the tile allowed the design team to create large, continuous areas of tile flooring that accentuates the office’s spacious public areas.
Now in its 23rd year, Ceramics of Italy’s annual awards program recognizes the work of top North American architects and designers who create imaginative spaces using Italian ceramic and porcelain tile. From homes to corporate offices to tile-clad facades, Ceramics of Italy welcomes all types and scales of projects featuring Italian tile.
