"Opening The Door For Software Patents In Europe," Law360

Wolfgang Leip, Partner in the Frankfurt office, authored the article “Opening the Door for Software Patents in Europe,” which was published in the August 10, 2010 issue of IP Law360. The recent landmark decision by the German Federal Supreme Court greatly expanded the ability of inventors to claim software inventions under German patent law. The importance of the decision cannot be overestimated as more than 60 percent of all European patent litigation takes place in Germany.
