Jungermann, Steger Publish “EU-US Privacy Shield” Article
The prominent German law magazine Deutscher AnwaltSpiegel published Frankfurt-based partner Sebastian Jungermann and associate Jens Steger’s article on the new EU-US Privacy Shield. The article discusses the legal framework that the European Commission issued on February 29, 2016, as well as related EC communication with the US authorities to restore trust in transatlantic data flows. The framework includes obligations on companies, a robust enforcement mechanism, clear safeguards, transparency and obligations on US government access, among other items.
