Arthur E. Brown is Co-Chair of Kaye Scholer’s Product Liability Group, and a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Group. His practice focuses on representing and advising clients on mass tort and product liability issues, investigations by federal and state authorities, inquiries from Congress, and commercial litigation disputes. As part of his practice, Arthur frequently serves as national counsel representing pharmaceutical companies in mass tort product liability actions, advises clients on strategic litigation and settlement decisions in the areas of commercial litigation and white collar investigations, and counsels clients on litigation avoidance.
Zaldwaynaka (Z) Scott (04/24/13)
Zaldwaynaka (Z) Scott is Co-Chair of Kaye Scholer’s Chicago White Collar Litigation and Internal Investigations Practice. Z is a seasoned trial lawyer, having taken more than 40 mostly jury trials to verdict in federal court. She concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation, corporate internal investigations (including matters related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), counseling on corporate compliance matters and white collar criminal defense. Her federal civil and criminal litigation experience includes accounting and commercial fraud, public corruption, civil tax appeals and criminal tax prosecutions, money-laundering and investment, and financial institution fraud. She has also led and represented companies in complex and extensive government regulatory and criminal grand jury investigations. Z has experience in appellate practice and has briefed and argued cases before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Michael J. Malecek (04/18/13)
Michael J. Malecek is Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Department and a member of the White Collar Litigation and Internal Investigations group. Mike represents some of the leading biotech and technology companies in the US, including Google, Sequenom, Affymetrix, Complete Genomics, and salesforce.com. His practice largely focuses on patent litigation, but he has experience in all areas of litigation, including general commercial, white collar, compliance, securities and employment. He has served as trial counsel in over a dozen jury trials, all of which resulted in victories for his clients. Mike was named one of The Daily Journal’s “Top 75 IP Litigators” in California for 2013 and 2010.
Catherine St. John (03/11/13)
Ms. St. John is an Associate in Kaye Scholer's Litigation Department, and a member of the firm's White Collar Litigation and Internal Investigations group. She has experience defending major corporations in complex state and federal civil and regulatory investigations involving healthcare fraud, including allegations of off-label promotion, anti-kickback statute violations, False Claims Act violations, and other issues related to sales, marketing and pricing practices. Ms. St. John has also conducted large-scale internal investigations and worked in complex commercial litigation.
Michael A. Rogoff (02/15/13)
Michael Rogoff, Co-Chair of Kaye Scholer’s Complex Commercial Litigation Department and Chair of the White Collar Litigation and Internal Investigations Practice Group, is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer whose practice is concentrated in the areas of white collar and civil litigation. He has represented major US and international corporations, as well as corporate directors and individuals, in a wide variety of disputes involving health care, securities, product liability, antitrust, consumer class action, trademark and copyright, trade secrets and breach of contract. Michael is also experienced in conducting internal investigations, as well as representing clients in SEC and grand jury investigations. He is a co-author of the Kaye Scholer LLP Deskbook on Internal Investigations, Corporate Compliance and White Collar Issues (Practising Law Institute 2011).
