Reinhard Bunjes joined the Kaye Scholer Finance Department in Frankfurt in 2011. He represents lenders, sponsors, private equity investors and borrowers on the origination, syndication and restructuring of domestic German and cross-border acquisition, project and real estate finance transactions. Reinhard’s experience includes representing the sponsors, EIB or the lenders on three of the first six German federal motorway PPPs. He is also well-versed in syndicated and bilateral loans, representing mandated lead arrangers, underwriters and/or lenders, as well as borrowers. Reinhard handled one of the first Islamic finance structures in Germany for a leading German mortgage bank, which included the Sharia-compliant financing of a major portfolio of shopping centers.
Reinhard’s professional background includes public law work, involving land reform issues and other matters arising from the reunification process in Germany in the early 1990s, as well as corporate work handled in an in-house counsel position at the Cologne municipal services group.
