Amy Conway-Hatcher is a Partner in Kaye Scholer’s Litigation Department, and she is head of the White Collar Litigation and Internal Investigations Practice in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Conway-Hatcher is engaged in all aspects of crisis management when representing corporate and individual clients facing sensitive corporate internal investigations or criminal and civil enforcement matters before the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Offices, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other federal and state regulators. Ms. Conway-Hatcher’s representations cross numerous industries, including life sciences, financial services, private equity, aerospace, infrastructure, construction, energy and technology, and range from addressing discrete compliance problems to organizational compliance failures. Ms. Conway-Hatcher regularly works with management and other advisers to assess the impact of investigative findings on financial reporting in the U.S. and abroad and to develop strategies to minimize the legal and business impact of possible transgressions — both direct and collateral — including government and shareholder disclosures, as well as relations with employees, customers, affiliates, investors, insurers, the media, the public and Congress.

Ms. Conway-Hatcher also counsels clients, including boards of directors, audit committees and management, on matters related to global compliance, FCPA and other international regulatory issues, corporate governance and the development, implementation, evaluation and auditing of effective internal compliance and ethics programs. She advises companies on compliance issues and third-party due diligence in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, co-investments, and IPOs, in addition to addressing traditional compliance issues, audits and whistleblower complaints.

Ms. Conway-Hatcher’s previous experience includes serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia for more than six years. As a federal prosecutor, she served in an elite trial unit that focused on investigating and prosecuting some of the city's most difficult and high-profile crimes. She conducted many grand jury investigations, served as lead trial counsel in dozens of complex criminal trials, and received numerous Department of Justice Special Achievement awards.

Ms. Conway-Hatcher earned her J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. She earned her B.A., with honors, from the University of Vermont. Following law school, she clerked for Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, who currently sits on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
