Amita Gopinath is an Associate in the Corporate Department of Kaye Scholer’s New York office. She represents domestic and international clients across a broad spectrum of cross-border corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. She also has experience advising portfolio companies of private equity firms, institutional lenders and borrowers, and global investment banks in relation to equity and asset acquisitions, financings, and debt and securities offerings.
Prior to joining Kaye Scholer, Amita was an associate in the corporate practice at Miller Canfield in New York, and she was also previously a corporate associate in the Singapore office of Linklaters. Amita also practiced in the corporate department at Amarchand Mangaldas in New Delhi, India.
In 2014, Amita was named to the Lawyers of Color’s Second Annual Hot List for the Eastern region, which features early- to-mid-career minority lawyers who excel in the legal profession.
Amita currently serves as the Vice President of Private Sector and In-house Attorneys of the South Asian Bar Association of New York. She is fluent in Hindi and Malayalam.
