Joseph Malinowski leads the firm's Aviation Finance and Leasing Group. For more than 30 years, Mr. Malinowski has conducted a broad domestic and international aircraft leasing and financing practice. He has been lead counsel on behalf of aircraft lessors, lenders, lessees and borrowers in numerous aircraft lease and debt financings and acquisitions, including operating leases, single investor leases, leveraged leases, mortgage financings, conditional sales, and cross-border leases.
His extensive experience in these types of transactions in over 40 countries around the world enables him quickly and efficiently to resolve complicated structural and practical issues that often arise in these matters. Additionally, Mr. Malinowski has had considerable experience representing financiers in asset-based loan transactions, workouts and bankruptcy matters.
Mr. Malinowski was recognized as one of California’s leading practitioners in the Aviation field and is cited in the Who’sWhoLegal : California 2009 publication. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Section on Business Law; Subcommittee on Personal Property Leasing; Committee on the Uniform Commercial Code; Subcommittee on Aircraft Financing; and Committee on Commercial Financial Services. From 1983 to 1986, he was a member of the Los Angeles Bar Association's Executive Committee, and he was on their Commercial Law Subcommittee from 1981 to 1988.
