Patrick Michel is Counsel in the Corporate Department of the New York office of Kaye Scholer LLP.

Mr. Michel advises investment managers and advisors of a range of investment funds, including private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate funds and venture capital funds, on commercial and regulatory issues. He has represented limited partners in connection with their investments in hedge funds, private equity funds and real estate funds. He also has experience in mergers and acquisitions, finance and real estate transactions.

Mr. Michel has experience in the areas of commercial real estate development and finance. Mr. Michel’s practice includes transactions involving mortgage and mezzanine debt, construction financing, joint ventures and acquisitions and dispositions. His clients include real estate opportunity funds, major financial institutions and institutional investors.

Private Fund Formation

  • Representation in connection with the restructuring of $5 billion in equity in a fund.

  • Representation in connection with restructuring of $60 billion in asset backed securities.

  • Representation of anchor investors in a restructuring and additional offering of $1 billion in equity.

  • Representation in the launch of a U.S. feeder fund and the restructuring of its offshore feeder fund.

Real Estate Finance

  • Representation in connection with restructuring of a $170 million credit facility.

  • Representation in connection with subscription credit line revolvers to foreign funds.

  • Representation in connection with a subscription credit lines revolver.
