Henry Morriello is Chair of the Finance Department and Head of the Structured Finance Practice. Henry represents clients in US and international term securitization and commercial paper conduits involving residential and commercial mortgage loans, corporate loans, equipment leases, student loans, aircraft loans and leases, auto paper, trade receivables, home equity loans, intellectual property royalties and esoteric assets. He has represented global financial institutions in groundbreaking governmental financial assistance transactions, troubled financial asset portfolio sales and liquidations. He has been active in representing investment funds and financial institutions in the purchase and financing of financial assets. He also has extensive experience in advising financial institutions in regulatory matters and derivatives transactions.

Henry has been recognized annually as a leader in Capital Markets — Securitization by Chambers Global (2009-2016) and Chambers USA (2008-2015) and was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America (2012-2016) for Securitization and Structured Finance Law, Expert Guides’ Banking, Financial and Transactional Law 2013 guide for Structured Finance and Securitization and was commended by Legal 500 US (2014-2015) for his work in Structured Finance and Asset Finance and Leasing. The 2014 edition of Legal 500 US notes that Henry is “fabulous” and “puts together a good team.” According to sources in Chambers USA 2015, Henry is “wonderful” and is “able to take very difficult concepts and explain them in a lucid way,” while the 2014 edition notes that he “is extremely hands-on” and “protects his clients, but not in a way that alienates the other side.” Impressed sources in the 2013 edition of Chambers USA remark that he “really learns how the institutional client operates” and “has a holistic knowledge of the client,” while the 2012 edition highlights that “he comes highly recommended by clients, who consider him ‘one of the brightest minds you will ever meet.’” He is also praised as “invaluable in negotiations, where he is particularly masterful at representing interests with both finesse and force.”

Henry is a frequent lecturer at conferences across the country and abroad on topics that include asset/mortgage securitization, structured product workouts and restructurings, transportation finance, real estate finance, and alternative investments.
