Darya V. Pollak is an Associate in Kaye Scholer’s Los Angeles office with a focus on intellectual property litigation and counseling. She is experienced in copyright and trademark litigation, digital and new media, regulatory compliance and entertainment contract disputes.
Recently, Darya was a member of the trial team that obtained a seven-figure jury verdict after a five-week trial on behalf of the owner of freecreditreport.com trademark in a cybersquatting and trademark infringement case. Darya has been trained in trial advocacy and is certified as a volunteer prosecutor through the Los Angeles County Bar Association Trial Attorney Project, where she has prosecuted several criminal jury trials to verdict.
She has experience managing and conducting discovery, including case-specific discovery for numerous plaintiffs in both state court and federal multi-district litigation. Darya has collaborated with co-counsel in a virtual law firm to create and implement a multi-district litigation case-evaluation database, and has extensive legal research and briefing experience.
An active participant in Kaye Scholer’s pro bono program, Darya counsels non-profits with respect to their web policies and trademark rights and has drafted trademark and artist agreements on behalf of a prominent local museum. In 2012, Darya was named chairperson of the Associate Board of Public Counsel, the nation’s largest pro bono law firm.
Prior to joining Kaye Scholer, Darya served as a foreign law clerk to Justice Asher Grunis of the Supreme Court of Israel and, while at law school, as an extern to the Hon. Stephen Reinhardt of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Darya is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational Hebrew and basic Portuguese.
