Sheldon L. Solow (08/19/14)
Sheldon Solow is a Partner in the firm’s Chicago office. He has represented and continues to represent a wide variety of constituencies, including secured lenders (lead counsel to Bank Group in Cambridge Industries), purchasers of businesses (Schwinn Bicycle), bondholders (International Knife and Saw), fiduciaries (Trustee of Winstar Communications, Representative for Unknown Asbestos Claimants in Plibrico), special litigation committees (Safety Kleen) and debtors (Kotler Industries) as well as individual clients. He also served as Trustee for Midway Airlines, Inc. — the largest Chapter 7 proceeding in the Northern District of Illinois. Sheldon was appointed by the Honorable Robert Ginsberg as legal representative for the class of unknown malpractice claimants in In re Provident Hospital. Marc serves as Chair of Kaye Scholer’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Department in Los Angeles. He has nearly 40 years’ experience in bankruptcy law and corporate reorganization, with particular emphasis on the representation of bondholders, secured creditors, creditors’ committees, and debtors-in-possession. He currently represents the California State Controller in disputes with life insurance companies regarding escheat matters, the Controller and the California Department of Finance in the City of San Bernardino Chapter 9 proceeding, and LAX in connection with the American Airlines Chapter 11.

Ben has extensive transaction experience with respect to the negotiating and drafting of complex asset purchase agreements, loan agreements, investment agreements, subordination and intercreditor agreements, factoring agreements, and reorganization plans. He has also been actively involved in several litigation matters before bankruptcy and other courts throughout the country, including appeals to federal district and circuit courts.

She has 25 years experience representing lending groups, global financial institutions, creditors’ committees, private equity funds and hedge funds in out-of-court bankruptcies, workouts and restructurings, pre-arranged Chapter 11 cases, contentious Chapter 11 cases and related litigation matters.

Mark Liscio is Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice group at Kaye Scholer. For over 25 years Mark has represented major financial institutions, steering committees of lenders, syndicate agents, buy side investors and private equity firms in complex debt restructurings and insolvency proceedings in a broad range of matters. Mark was lead counsel on behalf of a number of financial institutions and lender groups during the recent credit crisis in a broad range of cases and asset classes, including RMBS and CMBS facilities, media and energy cases. He has recently negotiated and structured a number of debt for equity conversions which have been implemented through pre-packaged and pre-arranged plans of reorganization.
