Sandra Pfister is a Partner and a German-qualified corporate finance lawyer in Kaye Scholer’s Finance group. Sandra has extensive experience advising both banks and borrowers on a wide variety of corporate and structured finance transactions, including acquisition finance (both public bids and leveraged acquisitions), syndicated and bilateral lending, project finance, trade finance (including ECA covered deals), real estate finance, debt restructurings and Schuldschein loans (loan notes), as well as other general banking matters, both cross-border and in Germany. Additionally, her experience includes equity capital/PE financings as well as international debt and equity capital markets transactions such as corporate bond offerings (including high yields, LYONs, convertible and exchangeable bonds), IPOs, dual listings (including on NASDAQ), rights offerings and mandatory bids.

Dr. Gottfried Freier is Special Counsel at Kaye Scholer and headed the Frankfurt office as its Managing Partner from 2007 to May 2012. Prior to going into private practice, Gottfried was in-house counsel with BASF Aktiengesellschaft in the Patent, Central Legal and Group Tax Departments, and later became General Counsel of BASF Pharma, with worldwide responsibility for legal, taxes, insurance and trademarks.

David A. Sausen is a Partner in Kaye Scholer’s Tax Department. His practice is broad-based, covering tax issues relating to mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and limited liability companies, investment funds, leveraged leasing transactions, sovereign wealth funds, and cross-border transactions. He has substantial experience in working with clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate and partnership restructurings, investment fund formations and restructurings, and IRS and New York tax controversy matters.
