Kawezya Burris is an Associate in Kaye Scholer's New York Office who focuses her practice primarily on complex commercial disputes, financial services litigation and securities regulatory enforcement matters.
全部显示Kawezya has experience in representing major financial institutions in a wide range of matters, including, among others, securities class actions, SEC and FINRA investigations and inquiries, commercial disputes involving breach of contract and business fraud claims, FCPA investigations, and cases involving antitrust and patent claims. She also has extensive experience handling disputes involving breach of contract and mortgage-backed securities.
Outside of her legal practice, Kawezya is a member of the Federal Bar Council American Inn of Court and the National Bar Association, as well as a mentor and volunteer for Legal Outreach, a pipeline program for youth from underserved communities in New York City.
Kawezya earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 2006. She is also a 2002 alumnus of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Worldwide Summer Academy, where she was selected to represent the United States in the study of intellectual property with students and professionals from around the world. Kawezya is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
