Michael Damast is a Partner in the Real Estate Department of Kaye Scholer’s New York office. His practice focuses on the representation of investment banks, real estate opportunity funds and other institutional lenders in the origination and securitization of first mortgage debt, mezzanine loans, bridge loans, preferred and common equity investments, and other structured finance products. He has been involved with many of the largest and most complex securitized mortgage and mezzanine financings completed in the market.
Michael routinely represents Jefferies LoanCore, LLC, The Royal Bank of Scotland, UBS, Wells Fargo, Silverpeak Real Estate Finance, Square Mile Capital, Cerberus Real Estate Capital Management, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and other similar institutions. In connection with his long term representation of these clients, Michael has been involved in some of the most complex and innovative transactions in the market covering all asset types, including, office, retail, hospitality, multi-family, industrial and mixed use properties.
Michael also has extensive experience in the representation of clients in construction financings, workouts, restructurings, foreclosures and in the acquisition and disposition of office buildings, hotels, shopping centers, and other real estate projects.
