Evan Elan’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and electronic discovery management. Since joining Kaye Scholer, Mr. Elan has represented major financial institutions in adversary proceedings arising from leveraged financing transactions. He has also represented real estate management companies and individuals in actions involving breach of contract, corporate governance, and fraud. As a member of Kaye Scholer’s E-Discovery Practice Group, Mr. Elan has assisted international corporations in devising defensible electronic document preservation policies.

He has second-chaired trial proceedings; drafted witness scripts; defended and taken depositions; and drafted pleadings and appellate briefs in both federal and state court. Mr. Elan is also a contributor to Kaye Scholer’s Deskbook on Internal Investigations, Corporate Compliance and White Collar Issues. As part of his pro bono practice, he recently represented an individual in an employment discrimination and FLSA action, resulting in a significant financial settlement for the client.
Mr. Elan received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School. During law school, he served as an associate on The George Washington Law Review and worked as a summer law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Maryland.
