Sam Lonergan concentrates his practice in complex commercial disputes, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical pricing and marketing, fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices Act matters, and civil and criminal internal corporate investigations. He has litigated on behalf of clients in a range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, finance, aircraft and retail, always with a focus on providing practical advice that balances the client’s business needs with legal considerations.
全部显示Mr. Lonergan represents clients nationally in U.S. federal and state courts, administrative proceedings and mediations. He has represented international pharmaceutical manufacturers in government actions pertaining to drug pricing, reimbursement and off-label marketing. Most recently, he was a key member of the team that obtained the reversal by the Alabama Supreme Court of a $33 million jury verdict and judgment in a Medicaid fraud action brought by the State of Alabama against a major multi-national pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Mr. Lonergan has negotiated a favorable settlement on behalf of an aircraft parts manufacturer through a mediation involving competing security interests in aircraft turbine engines and the complex interplay of international treaties and the Uniform Commercial Code. He has also assisted a grocery chain in avoiding Deceptive Trade Practices Act claims relating to its marketing efforts.
Mr. Lonergan has been honored for his pro bono work, and has received multiple individual pro bono achievement awards. Acting as a Special Assistant District Attorney for Kings County, New York, he successfully defended an appeal from a criminal conviction, and in civil litigation, has helped secure Social Security Income Disability benefits for numerous disabled clients.
Mr. Lonergan joined the firm in 2001 upon his graduation from Georgetown University Law Center.
