Mr. Silberman's Internet practice includes negotiating and preparing the full range of Internet and E-Commerce agreements, including content and database licensing agreements; website development, hosting and linking agreements; Internet service provider agreements; ASP service level agreements; and advertising, co-branding, affinity marketing and sponsorship agreements. Mr. Silberman has counseled numerous clients in the development of terms of service/use and privacy policies for their websites and has represented a Fortune 500 company in response to an inquiry from a state attorney general regarding privacy policies and data retention.
Mr. Silberman's patent practice includes a wide range of computer software and hardware methods and devices including database management systems, data compression systems, cryptographic systems, information theory–based network management systems, distributed operating systems, electronic commerce systems (including business methods), computer telephony systems, hardware emulation, data storage, and information management systems. Mr. Silberman has also prepared and prosecuted patents for business methods (separate from electronic commerce applications), liquid crystal displays, automated chemistry systems, ion beam implantation, electro-chromatic devices and neutron dosimetry. Mr. Silberman formerly served as Intellectual Property Counsel at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
