Derek Stoldt, partner in the Corporate Department, focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, joint ventures and licensing arrangements. His clients include financial sponsors, such as private equity, hedge and venture capital funds, as well as public and private companies in a range of industries. He has particular experience in the life sciences and medical technology industries.

Mr. Stoldt has substantial experience with international and cross-border transactions in Europe and South America. He was one of the attorneys to open Kaye Scholer's London office, where he concentrated on the firm's global practice. While in London, Mr. Stoldt qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

Mr. Stoldt is a frequent lecturer and is the principal author of the firm's annual "What's Market" survey of private equity M&A deal terms. He has also been quoted and published in The Wall Street Journal, Buyouts, Dow Jones Newswire, The Deal, Financier Worldwide and other publications. He is particularly active in continuing legal education. He established the Corporate Department's unique "Kaye Scholer College" and conducts many of the department's training programs.

Mr. Stoldt is a member of Kaye Scholer's Pro Bono Committee and counsels a number of community service organizations on a pro bono basis. He serves as a member of the Board of Advisors to the Corporate Counsel Institute of Georgetown University Law Center and the New York City Bar’s Committee on Mergers, Acquisitions and Contests for Corporate Control.
