Kaye Scholer Co-Sponsors Just The Beginning Foundation’s 2016 National Conference

Kaye Scholer was a bronze level sponsor of Just The Beginning Foundation's (JTBF) three-day 2016 National Conference celebrating the 50^th anniversary of the appointment of Judge Constance Baker Motley—the first woman of color to the federal bench. Approximately 140 federal judges, including US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, participated in the conference, which was held from September 15–18, 2016 in New York City.

New York-based Litigation partner Sheila Boston and Kaye Scholer Diversity & Inclusion director Satra Sampson-Arokium participated on a panel addressing networking skills during the conference's second day on September 17, 2016. Moderated by Honorable Judge George Daniels for the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, the panel drew an audience of law school students of color from all over the US.

Longtime firm client Pfizer Inc. was the premium sponsor of this year's conference. Now in its 11^th biennial, the JTBF conference continues to honor the integration of the federal judiciary.

JTBF was founded as a nonprofit, pipeline organization of judges, lawyers and other citizens dedicated to developing educational programs to inspire and foster careers in the law among students of color and from other underrepresented groups, from middle school through law school.
