A New Model for Hedge Funds?

It never rains but it pours: increased UK income tax rates, the Directive on Alternative Investment Fund Managers, new EU oversight of national regulators and SEC registration for hedge funds are all significant in their own right, but when taken together call into question the continued use of established structures for hedge funds and their managers.

Simon Firth (Partner, Investment Funds) and Daniel Lewin (Partner, Tax) considered the impact these measures will have on hedge funds businesses and predicted some changes to the status quo for fund managers, as well as for management and fund vehicles.
