German Legal Handbook for Real Estate Investments receives positive Review in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

December 21, 2009

The legal handbook for real estate investments, "Rechtshandbuch Immobilien-Investitionen", co-edited by Thomas A. Jesch, Counsel in the Frankfurt Office, received a rare review in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung issue of December 21, 2009. The review stresses that for the first time, the legal basics for real estate transactions are thoroughly covered in one volume. According to the review, the book fully lives up to its promise to deal with all legal, tax and balance sheet aspects of the various investment structures.

The 828-page volume presents the legal basics for open-end funds, closed-end funds and REITs and their respective investments/divestments.  A section on outbound investments includes 29 country reports.  The U.S. country report has been authored by Willys H. Schneider.  The panel of 77 authors includes practitioners from BHF Immobilien, the Federal Ministry of Finance, IVG Immobilien, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investments and Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie.
